Error codes on Hotpoint washing machines with digital displays are broadcast with a fault code starting with F0, as well as with flashing lights. Below are a list of the most common error codes that will appear on the digital display of your Hotpoint washing machines, along with the fault type and a description of what’s gone wrong:

It coming up f6 on my washing machine can u tell me what it is please
I have a problem of my washing machine Hotpoit brand model number HWT-8082K error code number 3 (E3) what is the meaning of this i hope you can reply thanks
I have a F9 coming up on my machine
Door won’t open after wash cycle has finished
Washing machines won’t open if they still think there is water inside. If there is water inside you can try to drain it out by disconnecting the drain hose and lower it to the floor. Unless there is a blockage the water will run out allowing you to open the door. If there is no water inside the machine there will be a fault with the door lock or the control board (or both)
I’m looking for some help, I got a error code f60 but can’t seem to find that on any website at all

hi i have the error code f:09 on my machine could u plz tell me can it be fixed and how much?
How do I fix fo6 pleasee
Please could you give some details on the product such as type and model?
I have replaced the motor and still bringing out error code 2
The error codes are an indication of what the machine thinks is wrong, there can be multiple causes like if a wire has a break in it. Please give the model number, symptoms of the problem and exact error code and I will have a think.
Had error code F09 on Hotpoint dryer. Kept cutting off and tripping electric. Managed to clean fan with a backscratcher. Pulled tons of fluff, hair etc from fan(sealed unit beside condenser) works great now. Need to find ultra thin, long hoover nozzle to clean properly. Saved a few pounds with easy fix. Hotpoint model tcd980
This is quite a common fault with washer dryers or condenser dryers. Nice idea to use a back scratcher. Often parts of the condensing unit are hard to get to and it is easy to leave some of the fluff behind which can then cause a re-occurrence of the same fault again. The lack of air flow causes the heaters to overheat and the overheat stat to cut out. Some times the whole condensing unit will need to be replaced if the fluff can’t be cleaned out or perhaps heater or thermostats.
Hotpoint BHWMD732 7KG Error Code F18 How to fix or reset please?
F18 on that model is a PCB Module fault so the PCB will probably need replacing. Unfortunately this is not something that you can do yourself as it will need programming after fitting and engineers need special equipment to do this.
There is always the risk that you fit a new module and it doesn’t fix the fault, fault codes are an indicator rather than a definite answer. The modules are quite expensive so there is a bigger risk than with other parts.
How do I sort a code F12 on my Hotpoint Ultima 7k washing machine please? This code keeps flashing.
Please could you give the model number, it should be inside the door or on the facia?
hotpoint Aquarius WT745 came home to code but not F just looked like 11 with – on top of the 11 had it a few years so no manual. would not switch on so turned power off then back on but worry if serious problem
Hotpoint smart+ error code f12 could you tell me how to fix it thanks
The official response to this is that there is a communication issue between the electronics within the product. This fault can be difficult to diagnose and fix and potentially a waste of money as you might need to try parts to see if they can fix the problem with no guarantee that it would work. In this case it would definitely be best to call out a professional using our booking form.
I have a Hotpoint washing machine mod no WMXTF942p,Fault code F12 coming up on screen ,I only bought this machine in August 2015 ,can you tell me what sort of guarantees I have on this machine ,and is it viable to have this repaired,or should I buy a new one ,thank you s,craven
This should still be under the 5 year parts guarantee but their call out charge is pretty high so make sure you check this first.
My hotpoint washing machine model wmo863p, shows F18 fault it fill with water and it won’t spin, what’s the problem for this machine.
If this error doesn’t clear after a reset then the fault will normally be difficult to diagnose. As mentioned in the table the code basically means that the machine knows something has gone wrong but it is unable to work out what it is. In this case the board(s) itself might have a fault but this is an expensive part to guess at and it will need to be programmed by someone who knows what they are doing.
My hot point washing machine has a F05 fault I’ve checked the filter and water comes out so I don’t believe it’s the pump-maybe wrong please can you advise
It depends how much water comes out. There is always water in the sump as it can not all be pumped out. I would check that the pump impeller is free and nothing is stuck anywhere. I assume you have cleared out the filter. Also make sure you can hear the pump running if you put it on a drain and spin cycle. To me it sounds like you have a blockage somewhere or the pump is jammed.
I have F5 appear on my machine . I put on extra spin cycle . Its start spinning then start refilling with water which it shouldnt do Hotpoint ultima wmtima .. its 10 years old and been rebuilt 3 times .. do u think time for new one ? Any info be great Thanks
It might just be blocked somewhere which wouldn’t require parts. It’s up to you whether you feel it is time to get a new machine.
I have a Hotpoint Ultima RPD9467JGGUK the water in the drum is not heating up I have even tried a 90 degree was but still cold the machine shows no fault codes and continues through its cycle to the end I have noticed though the countdown timer jumps down by half after the first ten mins of the wash cycle its as if its given up on heating the water up does this sound like the element has packed up even though no errors show on the display ?
Sounds like the machine thinks it has reached temperature, possible temperature sensor, heater or PCB problem
E6 and E7 means on Indesit washing machines
The indesit fault page is here Indesit faults and error codes Most Indesit products have an F code rather than E codes.
Hi, i have a hotpoint WMAO863 washing machine. It is saying the door is open although it is shut. Doesnt seem to be a problem with the mechanism at all. Wont start a cycle due to this. Ive turned it off at the plug and this worked once but now not working? Can i reset anything? Thanks
Why do you think there is not a problem with the mechanism? This type of fault would usually be either the doolock, mechanical problem with the door (like latch broken) or a problem with the start button.
My hotpoint machine not spining sometimes shows E4
Sounds like the machine is not pumping out quickly enough, check for blockages or drainage problem. Then check pump.
If it is not that then the machine might think it still has water in it when it hasn’t, check the pressure system
The display on My Hotpoint WD860 is flashing on and off extremely quickly, no error code. Sometimes it does it for a few seconds then stops, then starts again, weird.
Could be something to do with the display board, has it been getting worse or did the fault suddenly appear?
It has just started really. I made a video of it. I thought it might be a dodgy connection, can’t find any problems though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FQUu6sPG4U
Hi, I have a WDAL 8640P which looks fine when the ‘on’ button is pressed. When selecting a program all the lights are indicating as normal. Once the ‘Start’ button is pressed to start a cycle you can hear the door lock, but then after about 4secs the ‘lock’ light flashes rapidly, the ‘start’ button has a slow flash and there is a beep every few secs. The machine will power done after holing the ‘on/off’ button down.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
My hotpoint washing machine saying no water supply? Can u help ?
Immidietly i put it on and select at quick wash the we error E02 comes
Thank you for your message. The E02 error on your washing machine usually indicates a problem with the door lock or door latch mechanism. It may not be fully closing or there could be a fault with the door switch.
Check that the door is properly closed and the latch is functioning correctly. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, the door lock assembly may need to be replaced.
We recommend booking an engineer to inspect and repair the issue. Let us know if you’d like help arranging this!
Hi, my dryer has 2 fault codes. It flashes E2 and F6 Was working perfectly until yesterday then just stopped and started with the codes. It’s a hotpoint NT M11 92SK UK Done a bit of googling and found the codes to be a door lock problem and a heat problem. I don’t know why 2 separate problems occurred at same time? Could you please tell me if it is worth/cost effective repairing or replacing it? Thanks Wayne.
Thank you for your message, Wayne. The E2 and F6 codes on your Hotpoint NT M11 92SK UK dryer typically indicate issues with the door lock (E2) and a heating system fault (F6). It’s unusual for two faults to appear simultaneously, but they could be linked to a control board issue.
If the dryer is relatively new, it’s likely worth repairing. Repairs for these faults often involve replacing the door lock or heating element, which are generally cost-effective compared to replacing the appliance.
We recommend booking an engineer to diagnose and provide an accurate repair estimate. Let us know if you’d like help arranging this!
